Indeed, the Rescue Diver Course will develop your knowledge and skills to effectively perform a rescue, as well as assist and administer first aid. After course completion, you will be trained to rescue your buddy from danger or recognise their stress signals so you can act accordingly. Importantly, the Rescue Diver course is the final step to becoming a Divemaster or professional diving instructor. Although, the Rescue Diver course is a demanding one, it will most likely be the most rewarding diving course you do. Importantly, the course is internationally recognised. Indeed, most divers say the Rescue Diver course has been their favourite.
How is the Rescue Diver Course structured?
Our Rescue Diver course is conducted over two days. Importantly, we will cover all the rescue skills you need, such as self-rescue and locating a missing or unconscious diver. Further, the course also covers how to bring an unconscious diver to the surface and ultimately, to safety.
On the first day, we will visit the local pool. Here, we will revisit the surface skills you learnt as part of your Open Water Course. These include: tired diver and cramp removal. Additionally, we will practice the skills needed to keep yourself safe from diving. Next, we practice the techniques required to rescue a stressed or panicked diver. The first day includes a repertoire of skills and techniques that build the foundation for your second day in the open water.
After that, the second day is done in the open water. Here, we will practice mock rescue scenarios. You and your team will utilise the skills learnt at the pool to save a distressed or unconscious diver.
Have you considered?
Can you get your knife out easily with one hand? Carrying a backup mask is a great idea but can you get it out of your pocket with no mask on? Backup masks often fog up which can add to the stress. Always consider defogging your backup mask at the same time as your primary mask. A spool is a common choice for a backup DSMB but if you are not familiar with a spool they can be difficult to operate – especially the first few times – and especially under stress. So, using a spool for the first time in an emergency situation is a bad idea.
Rescue Diver course first aid
Haven’t got your First Aid?
Not a problem, I have you covered! I offer first aid courses tailor-made for you. The Adult, Child and Infant Emergency Care Courses and O2 Administration Course are all delivered using a video platform e-learning.
What makes my courses unique? I have 10 years experience as a first responder. Therefore, I have picked up very important lessons through the years which I incorporate into my First Aid course. Additionally, the O2 course identifies equipment used for decompression illness emergencies and the course is detailed with practical components. As a result, you will be trained to be a well rounded rescuer and properly deal with other scuba diving emergencies. Seriously, what else could you ask for in a first aid course for scuba divers?
After the courses you will be competent in:
- CPR administration for children, infants, and adults
- AED use for children and adults
- First aid for possible workplace incidents
- First aid for common injuries
- Identification of Decompression Illness
- Administration of emergency oxygen
What happens after I complete the course?
Importantly, your new Rescue scuba certification card will be posted to your nominated address. Additionally, your FREE digital card will be uploaded into your account instantly. Also, your certification card is valid for a lifetime anywhere in the world. Therefore, once received, you will be ready to explore every ocean in the world!
How do I book my Rescue Diver Course?
Importantly, this is a major part as to why we can charge, one of the cheapest scuba courses in Brisbane. Indeed, we have selected not to pay a payment/booking software fee. Here, we save on the annual subscription and a commission fee. Normally, charged at around 2% of your final fee. As a result, we can pass the saving onto YOU!
So, scroll down and click on the BOOK NOW tag. Here, you will complete a couple of questions which we will be sent to me by email. Afterwards, I’ll reply with any inquiries you may have and the payment/course details to enroll onto your course.Â
Finally, give me a call, if you haven’t heard from me within 24 hours. Let’s get you onto your new adventure, as soon as possible!

Search and Rescue course delivered by Shane was great. Real life, challenging scenarios and heap of fun over the two day course. I have also done few dive trips with Scuba Shane Diving and cannot recommend them enough. Thank you and see you soon back in the water
